What cookies are
Cookies are small text files stored on a visitor’s device by their browser. They allow a website to recognise the device on subsequent visits and to remember preferences. Similar technologies (for example, local storage) are used for the same purposes and are covered by this policy.
Cookie categories
Cookies on this site fall into the following categories:
- Strictly necessary. Required for the site to function and to record consent choices. These are always active and cannot be turned off.
- Functional. Used to remember non-essential preferences set by the visitor.
- Analytics. Used to understand aggregate site usage. Analytics scripts do not load until the visitor accepts the analytics category in the cookie banner.
- Marketing. Used for advertising or cross-site tracking. None are set by default on the marketing site; if marketing cookies are introduced in the future, they will be consent-gated under this category.
Consent and opt-out
Non-essential cookies are not set until the visitor records a choice through the cookie banner. Choices can be changed at any time using the “Cookie settings” link in the footer of every page. Clearing consent re-opens the banner on the next page load so a new choice can be recorded.
Visitors can also block or delete cookies through their browser settings. Doing so may affect site functionality that depends on strictly necessary cookies.
Third-party cookies
Where third-party services are used — for example, a privacy-friendly analytics tool — those providers may set cookies on this site. Such third-party cookies are placed only after the visitor accepts the relevant category in the cookie banner.
When the active set of third-party providers changes, this policy and the cookie banner will be updated to reflect the change.
No tracking on legal pages
Strictly necessary cookies aside, the legal pages on this site (Privacy Policy, Terms of Service, GDPR Statement, and this Cookie Policy) are not used to deliver targeted advertising and are not gated behind consent prompts.
